Cash Junk keeps your expenses per project and turns them into a PDF expense claim. Everything stays on your device, so most answers below are about doing things in the app itself.
Getting started
- Open Settings (gear icon) and enter your details: name, company, address, IBAN and BIC. They appear at the top of every claim.
- Tap the green + to create a project. Use Choose from contacts to fill in the client.
- In the project, tap Add expense and take a photo of the receipt, or choose one from Photos or Files.
- When the project is done, tap Close project. Cash Junk creates the PDF claim, which you can share or email.
Frequently asked questions
The amount or VAT on my receipt was not recognised correctly
Receipts are read on your device, and the result is always a suggestion. Check the date, amount, currency and VAT before you tap Save, and change anything that is wrong.
For better results: lay the receipt flat, use good light, and make sure the totals are sharp and fully in the photo.
Can I add a receipt I received as a PDF or by email?
Yes. Save the PDF or image to Files, then tap Files when adding an expense. For a PDF, the first four pages are used.
How does foreign currency work?
Choose the currency of the receipt. Cash Junk fetches the official ECB exchange rate for the receipt date and converts the amount to euros. On weekends and holidays the rate of the last working day is used. The original amount and the rate are kept.
No internet? Save the expense anyway, then open it later and tap Fetch rate, or enter the rate or euro amount yourself.
A receipt has more than one VAT rate
Tap + VAT line for each rate and enter the rate and VAT amount. The claim shows a VAT summary per rate.
Can I see the PDF before closing the project?
Yes. Choose Preview PDF in the project menu (•••) or in the Close project dialog. The preview is marked DRAFT and changes nothing. Pinch or double-tap to zoom in.
I closed a project but forgot a receipt
Closed projects are locked so a claim you've sent can't change. Open the project, choose Duplicate in the menu (•••), and add the missing receipt to the copy.
Why can't I close my project?
Every expense needs a euro amount. If an expense in a foreign currency has no exchange rate yet, the project shows a warning. Open that expense and tap Fetch rate, or enter the amount yourself.
How do I send the expense claim?
Open the closed project, tap the PDF icon, then the share icon. You can send it by Mail, Messages, WhatsApp or save it to Files.
How do I move my data to a new iPhone or iPad?
- On the old device: Settings → Export backup, and save the file to iCloud Drive or Files.
- On the new device: install Cash Junk, then Settings → Restore backup and choose the file.
Restoring replaces everything on the new device with the contents of the backup.
Is my data backed up automatically?
No. Cash Junk has no account or cloud storage, so your data only exists on your device. Export a backup regularly, especially before you change phones.
Contacts, camera or photos don't work
Cash Junk asks permission the first time. If you declined, go to the iOS Settings app → Cash Junk and allow Camera, Photos or Contacts. You can always enter details by hand instead.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a project to erase it with all its expenses, receipt photos and PDF. Deleting the app removes all its data from your device.
Read how your data is handled in the privacy policy.
Veelgestelde vragen
- Bedrag of btw verkeerd herkend?
- Nieuwe telefoon? Oud toestel: Settings → Export backup. Nieuw toestel: Settings → Restore backup.
- Automatische back-up? Nee, alles staat alleen op je toestel. Maak zelf regelmatig een back-up.
